About Us

Meet Donald Wicker, Founder of Coastal Breeze Senior Living Advisors. With a 40‑year career spanning technology, operations, and leadership, Donald brings a unique blend of business expertise and heartfelt commitment to serving seniors. After graduating from Florida Atlantic University, he began his career with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida and later spent two decades with Sears, Roebuck & Co. where he led and coordinated national field marketing programs for a $1B division.

Following early retirement, Donald shifted his focus to community impact, motivated by his wife Donna’s work and experiences within healthcare and senior retirement communities. He developed a growing desire to support and 'give-back' to older adults. From 2019 to present, he has worked hands‑on within well-known Jacksonville area senior communities providing activities coordination, exercise, events planning, assisting Marketing with tours and families, and on special events as an "entertainer". Helping residents stay engaged, connected, and supported across independent living, assisted living, and memory care and giving back to local senior community events including senior transportation services. 

On a personal note, a few years pre-COVID, his oldest sister was showing early symptoms of dementia. The family began having increased safety concerns related to in-home cooking, driving her car to/from local grocery store and other health related symptoms. The family lead by Donald began the journey of research, discussions, doctor testing, lab work, evaluating financial considerations, Medicare/Medicaid options, documents and in-home caregiving. Donald discovered there is an overwhelming load of information available but no structured process to locate specific references to unique family needs.  All of which became increasingly stressful and frustrating to the family.  Then in 2020--COVID-19!!  Donald and family identified new options which included senior living and memory care options. Unfortunately, COVID-19 took her from his family unexpectedly!  Helping others in similar situations has been a major factor why his drive to form a senior living advisory services business that includes a focus on providing easy access to well-organized educational reference library to unique family situations. Today, he leads Coastal Breeze Senior Living Advisors, guiding families through senior housing decisions with clarity, compassion, and trusted local insight. Well organized informative library of editorial articles that relate to various family decision topics to help clarify and guide through the complexities to match senior parents and loved ones based on their unique needs.  Donald is also a certified FL Notary Public that is trustworthy. He enjoys outings with family life near the beaches, state park outings, golf, tennis, fishing and "Classic Rock" dancing.  He and his wife Donna ('high school 'sweetheart'), have three children, enjoy family and friends’ outings including a wonderful granddaughter.
